Feeding ecology and stomach content analysis of the kingsoldier bream, Argyrops spinifer (Forsskal 1775) (Perciformes: Sparidae) from the offshore waters (Northern Arabian Sea) of Pakistan.

The present study was conducted to examine the feeding habits of kingsoldier bream, Argyrops spinifer (Sparidae) from offshore waters Pakistan. Total 629 specimens collected using bottom trawlers (North Arabian Sea) Pakistan on monthly basis. Samples were taken landing center laboratory analyze variability in choice foods. Examination gut contents A. revealed that this fish is carnivore habit variable food items representing six different groups dominated by Crustacea (46.3%), Cephalopoda (27.1%), Teleostei (15.3%), Digested (6.3%), Gastropod (4.3%) and Echinoderm (0.8%). Seasonal variance stomach suggested crustaceans dominant post-monsoon 2013 (63.8%). During pre-monsoon season 2014, preferred cephalopods (42.0%) followed (39.5%). monsoon nearly 50% constituted while (47.6%). 2015, fed mainly (40.0 46.2%, respectively) (25.0 34.6%, instead cephalopods. This studغ provided basic information feed diets spinifer, which would be helpful its fisheries management.
